Lisbon 2020

Each year we take a group of students to an overseas destination. Lisbon, capital city of Portugal, is known as a creative and design hotspot with inspirational architecture and beautiful views, not to mention the very welcoming temperatures in March!

We stayed at the Old Town Hostel towards the top of a very steep cobbled street, which certainly kept us fit. Each day was filled to the brim with taking in the atmosphere and the culture of this beautiful city, travelling around on trams, spotting the street art along the way.

Amongst the places we visited were the Jeronimos Monastery, the Belem Tower, the LX Factory, Castelo de S. Jorge, the Oceanário and the stunning town of Sintra.

We were very grateful to be able spend some valuable time with two Lisbon creative agencies. We were inspired by the Second Home collaborative working space when visiting Polleni, a digital design agency. Cat How, founder of Polenni, talked to students about their digital design processes and client experiences. We had a unique insight into the world of games designers ZPX, but we cannot say much more than that as the work was top secret!

We are looking forward to exploring new places and offering the widest possible student experience each year, to compliment our UK trips and visits.
