In March 2019, 30 students and 3 lecturers travelled to Amsterdam, a vibrant and cultural city.
We stayed at the Clink Hostel in the creative Noord district, a great place for us to relax together at the end of our busy days. We had a packed itinerary for each of the five days in Amsterdam, visiting creative studios, Museums and Galleries including the Van Gogh Museum, The Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk, EYE Film Institute and Moco Museum. We were excited that the David Hockney Joy of Nature was exhibiting while we were in Amsterdam. During a trip up to the top of the A’dam Tower, some of our students were brave enough to ride the enormous swing looking out across the water to Amsterdam city centre. We had a memorable boat trip along the beautiful waterways on the last day.

One of the highlights was a visit to two world renowned creative studios – VBAT who work with brands such as Heineken, Sol and PostNL and 72andSunny who work with Audi, Fanta and Candy Crush. We spent time talking to their Creative Directors and looking around their creative working spaces. Pictured below left is Carmen Andres, who contacted VBAT again when she graduated, and is now on a year’s internship there.

We are looking forward to exploring new places and offering the widest possible student experience each year, to compliment our UK trips and visits.
